Frankfurt Hotels, Flights, and Festivals

Frankfurt is one of the most culturally rich cities in Germany, which is why many tourists consider booking hotels and flights here during festival season. If you are planning to visit Frankfurt but don’t know when the best time is to book for flights, here are the different festivals that you might like to consider witnessing.

Museumsuferfest

One of the major festivals in Frankfurt that usually keeps airline flights busy is the “Museumsuferfest” or the Museums Riverbank Festival. During this 3-day Frankfurt event, over 3 million tourists book for flights during late August every year. Frankfurt transforms into a festive metropolis because of numerous parties, dance shows, exhibits, and trade fairs. Aside from a very busy Frankfurt airport and numerous flights, there are over 20 local museums that stay open even until late evenings to accommodate more tourists.

Dippemess

Frankfurt also gets busy flights during the Dippemess or the Festival of Stoneware. This is the oldest Frankfurt festival happening twice a year – once during Easter and another towards the end of September – so most hotels and flights are prepared during these times. As the name suggests, Frankfurt presents the best of its jars, pots and other crafts to tourists who come in from flights all over the world.

Wäldchestag

Frankfurt also draws in numerous flights of tourists for the Wäldchestag or Woods Day festival. This celebration is held on a Tuesday in the city’s forest in Niederrad. Frankfurt starts bringing in both domestic and international flights for 4 days after Pentecost, leading to this special Tuesday.

Wolkenkratzer

The Wolkenkratzer Festival, also known as the Skyscraper Festival of Frankfurt, is one of the busiest tourist attractions that bring numerous flights to this city on a regular basis.  This festival opens up most of the skyscrapers in Frankfurt for tourists who get on flights to Germany just to see this city’s top view for the first time.  Over 1.2 million Frankfurt visitors book hotels and flights just for this extraordinary celebration. One of the main attractions of this Frankfurt event is to watch the different flights of sky-divers, jumpers and fireworks displays.

Sound of Frankfurt

Frankfurt is also known for its music. During summer, Frankfurt hotels and flights get busy for the Sound of Frankfurt music festival. This series of concerts by Frankfurt bands and artists has been bringing in tourist flights from all over the world since 1994. The best thing about this Frankfurt highlight is that all concerts are free so you just have to pay for food, accommodation and flights.

Whichever Frankfurt festival you like to witness, just make sure you book your flights and hotels a few months before the scheduled celebrations to avoid being bumped off. If you plan on going to Frankfurt with your family, there are special group flights that can be availed. All you have to do is contact your local airline company that has Frankfurt flights and have your group’s slots reserved. Remember, there are certain days in Frankfurt that are declared holidays so you might not be able to book certain dates for flights and hotel accommodations.
