Welcome to Flights Frankfurt
When we think of Frankfurt, we think of finance and business. After all, the city is home to the headquarters of the European Central bank and a multitude of financial establishments.
But there´s more to the bustling city than meets the eye. Frankfurt abounds in delights for those who are eager to book cheap flights to Frankfurt and experience the arts. Whether you are looking to take in the sights of classic museums, take a river cruise or take a hike within Germany´s largest city forest, Frankfurt is certainly a city to consider for a short break.
Large areas of the city have been rebuilt since the Second World War. However, the architecture of the city has managed to keep some of its medieval history while being rebuilt. It remains one of the most striking in Europe, with a mix of medieval architecture among the high-rise skyscrapers of the financial district. You can see a lot of tourist spots in central Frankfurt.
Frankfurt houses a wide variety of museums and art centers, so there´s something for everyone in this bustling city. Frankfurt is also credited as being one of the birthplaces of Euro-disco music in the early 90´s - which is still reflected today in the bustling clubs around the city.
For something a little more serene, Frankfurt also houses two botanical gardens with a number of tours that let you explore the surrounding wilderness. Boat trips on the river Rhine are also popular among tourists, and allow you to take in the splendor of the many historical buildings on the banks of the Rhine.
With an eclectic mix of history and the arts, Frankfurt has become home to many festivals and international trade fairs - with many tourists taking advantage of flights in Frankfurt order to experience these events. This includes the Frankfurt Motor Show and the Frankfurt Book Fair (the largest of its kind in the world).
There are a number of festivals in the city which attract visitors from outside. One of the major events is the Museums Riverbank Festival (Museumsuferfest) - which attracts over 3 million visitors over 3 days with live bands, craft stalls and a wide range of food from all over the world - with a spectacular firework display at the end of the festival.
Flights in Frankfurt touch down at two airports in the city - Frankfurt International and Frankfurt Hahn Airport - both of which are a bus or train journey away from the main city center. Frankfurt does not have an established reputation as a short break destination. This is because most people recognize the city as a European financial center, and this tends to dampen the interest of day trippers. However there is plenty here to merit a short break.
Culture vultures can pick over more than 60 of Germany´s most prestigious collections at the Museumufer (Museum Bank). Museums cover themes such as architecture (Deutsche Architecturmuseum) and German film (Deutsche Filmmuseum). The oldest museum here is the Museum der Weltkulturen (world cultures) which includes a collection of contemporary pieces from around the globe.
